Monitoring Progress of Students with Dyslexia: The Why and What? This webinar will discuss why it is important to monitor the academic progress of students with dyslexia frequently and over time, and how consistent progress monitoring system insures that parents, students, and teachers are on the same page when discussing student growth in basic academic areas.
The session will focus on the purpose of monitoring the academic progress of students with dyslexia using consistent measures. Examples of various progress monitoring systems will be shared. In addition, various scenarios of student progress will be discussed for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of agreed upon interventions and making possible adjustments as needed.
Our presenter is Andy Stetkevich, M.A. in Education. He has 37 years of experience as a K-12 educator in the field of literacy. He is currently an ELA/ELD Staff Development Specialist for RUSD. He is also a nationally endorsed Project Read consultant and an active member of the International Dyslexia Association. He has spoken at numerous national and international conferences in the field of literacy, including the British Dyslexia Association and the European Conference on Literacy held in Austria. Additionally, he traveled to Dubai to provide expertise to schools on MTSS, UDL, and Differentiated Instruction. Mr. Stetkevich was honored to be published in the British Journal, Dyslexia Review. He has taught graduate level courses at both CBU and the UCR Extension programs.
