Webinar: Memory and the Brain

This webinar covers the brain, discussion of memory, and study/learning strategies. Students value by understanding how their brain works as this helps them appreciate memory strategies. In studying the brain, we will focus on various components which aid the learning process and how students can enhance their efficiency. The memory component will review the process of memory and provide strategies to enhance each of the various steps within the process. The sections on strategies will cover a range of strategies for different subjects. The strategies are designed to be especially valuable for students who struggle with learning but are also useful for ALL students.

The speaker is Regina Richards, a Board-Certified Educational Therapist who also teaches at the UCR Extension program.  She is former director of Richards Educational Therapy Center and Big Springs School, specializing in multidisciplinary programs for language learning disabilities. She remains active in her local Southern CA Tri-Counties Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. She is the parent of an adult son who has struggled with dyslexia and dysgraphia all his life and has experienced the need for many memory strategies.  Among her published books, she has written The Source for Learning and Memory Strategies (2003).
